Emily Orton is a former public school teacher who, in 2007, turned homeschool mom. She has written for Your Teen Magazine, NY Metro Parents and Dare, Dream, Do. With her husband, Erik Orton, and their five young children, they moved aboard a fixer-upper a sailboat in the Caribbean and spent the next year sailing back to their home in Manhattan. Their book Seven at Sea was named a top 10 travel book by The New York Times and chronicles their transformative experience. They now advise CEO’s, leadership teams and parenting groups around the world on how to become a Connected Parent with the goal of each parent earning a seat on their adult child’s board of advisors.
